Topic: Underhand swordfight
Greetings, Clerics.

I'm trying to imitate the underhand iaido/kendo style used by the character of C. Bale in the movie, but I'm getting a bit confused.

If any of you can help me in the matter of katas, I'd appreciate for you to inform me about any site with detailed videos or pictures.

Thank you.

In the matter of the gunkatas I'd say google it. The gun katas featured in Equilibrium are not what director Kurt Wimmer envisioned. He wanted the gun katas to look like northern shaolin forms but the action choreographer wanted the gun katas to resemble south shaolin/karate forms since he's a black belt karateka.

As for the underhand sword forms, I'd suggest you go to a ninjutsu school. Ninjutsu schools tend to teach underhand methods not just for slashing and blocking but also to slit an enemy's throat given that ninja-to's are about 1/4 shorter than long swords (daito) in Equilibrium.
